Sergio is an ISSA certified personal trainer. ISSA (International Sports and Sciences Association) is one of the leading and most highly recognized certification programs in the fitness industry. My method/approach to personal training is to take every single person and create a unique workout catering to each individual, their needs, wants and goals. My extensive, diverse training has enabled me to create very specific training formats. From kick boxing, western boxing, gymnastics, dance, weightlifting and sculpt training, I pull from all of my areas of expertise to create a unique, total body workout, focusing on your own personal goals in fitness. I specialize in training both men and women. If you desire long, lean, slender muscles or really want to take your body to an extreme level of shredded, I am your guy! Perhaps your interests lie in gaining more flexibility this happens to be one of my biggest assets, and you would surely benefit from my training. I am not the type of trainer that sends my clients to the treadmill or bike for a 15 minute warm up as part of your session before the actual workout begins. There is too much creativity running through my veins to have you waste your precious time and money on a workout you could do on your own.
The process begins with a complete assessment of your physical condition, coupled with a frank discussion on what you want your body to become and how you would like to see yourself. With my vast knowledge and understanding of the human body, combined with your commitment, dedication and desire to make a change, we will proceed to work toward your goals, not only in the outer you, but most importantly, your inner health!
I have lived a lifetime filled with fitness. I was raised as a young boxer, training with my father, a professional boxer. I was always active and involved in some type of athletic endeavor, from running track in school, to a dance scholarship with an accredited studio which led to summers dancing with the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. I also continued to hone my skills in kickboxing, Aussie Rules football and gymnastics, eventually touring with the post-Olympic Gymnasts and partnering with Nadia Comaneci, the world’s first perfect 10. This diverse training from one discipline to another is why I am extremely passionate and knowledgeable about great health and proper fitness. I have trained very hard over the years to acquire these crafts which are gifts to me. These skills were instrumental in developing group fitness classes at some of the finest private gyms and fitness chains, including Equinox and Crunch. I also incorporate many aspects of my background into my personal training clients as well as my classroom workouts. My students not only feel like they got a great workout, but walk out knowing they learned something about working out. Whether it is safety, learning how to isolate muscles to achieve the maximum results or various kick progressions-combinations, I always add something new to keep the workouts fun, interesting and challenging. My goal is to empower my clients/students with my health and fitness knowledge.
What sets me apart from other trainers, aside from my vast, extensive, diversified training, is my ability to put all these components to work. I am also motivated by my own personal drive to make a change/difference in each individual toward better overall health and proper fitness techniques. The decision to become a personal trainer did not happen overnight, with a two day crash course in personal training as a means to make some quick money. Fitness has always been a part of my life and I take this aspect of me very seriously.
I see each individual as a world of their own I do not expect us all to rotate exactly the same.
